A collection of some of my Photoshop layer styles. Copy the .asl files to your Photoshop presets>styles directory, then restart PS if it was open.
Here’s a template I originally put together for my own use but thought I’d share it since it’s pretty useful. This AE template has six different luma matte dissolves that you can use as they are or modify to your liking. Just import the AE project file drop the comps into your timeline. You can also render them out as movie files to use in the NLE of your choice. There are both 720 and 1080 HD versions included, along with a quick reference chart.
These are bokeh light effects extracted from a photo taken by photographer and fellow designer Keith Harris, who was kind enough to let me post them on the site. They have been cut out and unmultiplied so they will work great as custom particles in trapcode particular or for adding the bokeh light effect to still images (more…)
This is a template that I put together from a couple of past projects where I needed to animate flipping through the pages of a calendar. I’ve included calendars for all 12 months of 2013 and you can also use your own calendars or other artwork. See the notes in the project folder for instructions. Works with AE CS5 or higher. Here’s a preview of the default animation, which you can of course change to suit your needs.
Red Giant’s awesome Psunami is a great water simulation plug-in for AE, however, it’s not cheap, can be tricky to use and takes quite a while to render, especially at the high quality settings. This is a template that can generate fairly realistic water using only the built-in tools in AE CS5+. It has tons of controls to easilyadjust the animation and look of the water. (more…)
Here’s a nice little template for creating different styles of picture frames
suitable for anything from a classy piece of art to a velvet Elvis! All of the frame parts are just shape layers with layer styles applied so it’s very easy to customize them however you like. You can turn the different layers on and off to change the look or play around with the layer style settings. Since they’re all made from shape layers you can just copy/paste the layer styles onto your own custom shapes. (more…)
Animated clocks are one of those things that I have needed for various projects over the years but they’re a pain to set up, so I made a template. This clock animation is super easy and fast to set up because everything is controlled with expressions. (more…)
This is a template for creating an animated filmstrip or sequence of images or videos with controls for the image size and space between images and for the scrolling animation speeed. You can drag the layers to rearrange the order of the images and they automatically maintain their distance from each other. Instructions are included in the project file.
